Duff's Corner

The neighbourhood of Duff's Corner can be found in the city of Hamilton, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Hamilton metropolitan area.

Transportation

Duff's Corner is an extremely good part of Hamilton for moving around by car. It is very convenient to park, and nearby highways, such as Highway 403, are especially easy to drive to from anywhere in Duff's Corner. In contrast, residents using public transit may have limited options in this area as a result of the service's low frequency. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most houses. It is sometimes difficult to commute by bicycle in this part of Hamilton because there are quite a few hills, and the cycling network is not very well-developed. Nevertheless, some bicycling-friendly sectors exist. Getting around as a pedestrian is also not especially convenient for home buyers in this neighbourhood as running daily errands is at times difficult without needing a vehicle.

Services

Primary schools are convenient to access on foot from most homes for sale in this area. However, there are no high schools in Duff's Corner. As far as food is concerned, property owners in this neighbourhood usually have to rely on a vehicle to access the nearest supermarket. Nonetheless, pharmacies are generally straightforward to reach as a pedestrian and sell some staple foods. A limited variety of restaurants is available in this part of Hamilton as well.

Character

The character of Duff's Corner is exemplified by its relaxed ambience. Although this area does not contain any green spaces, public green spaces are well-distributed in nearby neighbourhoods, making it easy to get to them. This part of Hamilton is also quiet, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic - although that is not the case around Highway 403.

Housing

Roughly 40% of homes in Duff's Corner were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 2000s. The large proportion of single detached homes in the housing stock of this neighbourhood is an important part of its character. Homeowners occupy nearly 90% of the properties in Duff's Corner whereas the remainder are rented. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
