Yorkville is a neighbourhood within Toronto, Ontario, which is located in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

This part of the city is an excellent neighbourhood with regards to travelling without a car. It is very easy for pedestrians to navigate Yorkville; running common errands is especially convenient on foot, and a very large number of businesses of different types can be found as well. This neighbourhood is also especially appropriate for biking since the bicycling network is good, and a bike share station is usually located nearby. Home buyers can rely on public transit to get around in Yorkville owing to Bay Station on the Bloor - Danforth Line, and a few nearby bus lines. On the other hand, this part of Toronto is not particularly car friendly since almost none of the street network is conducive to driving, and it is an occasionally long car ride to the closest highway from anywhere in Yorkville.

Services

In this area, parents and their children will almost always be able to reach schools and daycares by walking. In terms of food, it is especially convenient to access both a general and a specialty grocery store by walking from any location in this part of the city. Moreover, thanks to over 50 restaurants and about 10 coffee shops, this neighbourhood is a great area in which to go out to eat. House buyers have access to a very large number of nearby clothing stores, for example on Yorkville Avenue.

Character

Yorkville is a great neighbourhood for home buyers who enjoy both indoor and outdoor activities. Finding things to do in this area is very easy. There are often a very large number of people around, an extensive selection of entertainment venues can be found nearby, and places to go out at night are well-distributed throughout the neighbourhood. Yorkville Avenue is among the most lively streets in this area. The greenery in this part of Toronto is reasonably prominent as the tree canopy coverage for the majority of streets is good. Accessing public green spaces in the neighbourhood, such as Ramsden Park, is very easy since there are a few of them nearby for residents to enjoy.

Housing

The substantial percentage of large apartment buildings in the housing stock of Yorkville is an important part of its character. This part of the city offers mainly two bedroom and one bedroom homes.
