Located within the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area, Uptown is a neighbourhood within Mississauga, Ontario.

Transportation

This neighbourhood offers home buyers several alternative methods of transportation. Getting around by public transit is easy in Uptown. The neighbourhood is served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are ordinarily around the corner. Uptown is also reasonably suitable for pedestrians; meeting daily needs is easy without a car, and there are also a fair number of businesses close by. Moving around by bicycle is convenient in Uptown as this part of the city is home to good cycling infrastructure.

Services

It is easy to access both a general and a specialty grocery store as a pedestrian from most properties for sale in Uptown. In addition, there are a good number of opportunities for those who appreciate nearby restaurants and cafes. As far as education is concerned, it is a reasonably short distance to access schools and daycares from anywhere in Uptown. At the primary level, there are both public and private schools.

Character

Despite the somewhat busy feel, there are a lot of green spaces to enjoy in Uptown. It is easy to reach parks in the neighbourhood since there are a few of them close by for residents to relax in. Finally, this neighbourhood has many areas that are very calm and quiet, although other spots can be noisy, especially near Highway 403.

Housing

About one third of properties in Uptown were built following the year 2000, while many of the remaining buildings were built in the 1980s and the 1990s. The sizeable percentage of large apartment buildings in the housing stock of this area is an important part of its character. Homeowners occupy around 60% of the properties in Uptown whereas the rest are rented. This neighbourhood also has a choice of housing sizes - there is a higher proportion of two bedroom homes in this neighbourhood.
