The neighbourhood of Thornlea can be found in the city of Markham, Ontario, which is located in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

Thornlea is especially car friendly. It is very convenient to park, and the majority of homes for sale are a short drive from the closest highway, such as Highway 404. On the other hand, getting around by public transit is challenging in Thornlea. Thankfully, house owners are served by a few bus lines, and most residences are very close to a bus stop. Walking in Thornlea is not very common, even though many daily errands can be run without needing to resort to a vehicle. This part of Markham is also not very bicycling-friendly because the cycling infrastructure is fairly poor, and the terrain is not particularly flat. Thankfully, certain bike-friendly pockets can be found.

Services

Parents and their kids will find that wherever their home is situated in Thornlea, secondary schools and daycares are nearby. In contrast, there are no primary schools in Thornlea.
