Northwest Oakville

Part of the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area, Northwest Oakville is a neighbourhood within Oakville, Ontario.

Transportation

Driving is a great mode of transportation in Northwest Oakville. The street network is reasonably amenable to getting around by car, and most real estate listings are a rather short car ride from the closest highway, such as Highway 407. On the other hand, the public transit service in this area is not very frequent. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far from most residences. This part of Oakville is bike-friendly as the cycling network is extensive. Northwest Oakville is not especially suitable for those who travel by foot because most daily needs are impractical to carry out without having to use a car.

Services

Home buyers in Northwest Oakville will value that a grocery store is always only a very short walk away. A limited variety of restaurants and coffee shops can be found as well. As far as education is concerned, it is a reasonably short walk to reach daycares and schools from most houses for sale in Northwest Oakville.

Character

One of the highlights of Northwest Oakville is its wide selection of green spaces. The majority of locations in the neighbourhood have fairly good access to green spaces, like Palermo Park and Lion's Valley Park, since there are approximately 10 of them close by for residents to discover and many homes for sale have a park around the corner. Due to the presence of very few people out and about on the streets, this part of the town is relatively calm.

Housing

Around two thirds of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and one third are rented. In this neighbourhood, roughly three quarters of dwellings are single detached homes, while townhouses make up most of the remaining housing stock. This neighbourhood experienced its largest construction boom following the year 2000, so most of the available properties are from this era. However this area is particularly good for those looking for three bedroom homes.
