Midtown

The neighbourhood of Midtown can be found in the town of Ajax, Ontario, which is located in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

Midtown is a fairly pleasant part of Ajax for pedestrians; most daily needs are easy to meet by walking. However, Midtown is not particularly suited for bicycling because there are a fair number of slopes, and there are a limited number of bike lanes. Driving is an excellent transportation option in this neighbourhood. Most properties for sale are a short car ride from the closest highway, such as Highway 401, and it is convenient to come across a place to park. In contrast, public transit users may find few options in Midtown as a result of the service's low frequency. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is connected by a few bus lines, and most homes are very close to a bus stop.

Services

Parents and their children will appreciate that wherever their property is located in Midtown, daycares and schools are nearby. Concerning food, it is easy to get to the nearest supermarket on foot in Midtown. In addition, Midtown is a fairly good place in which to go out to eat, and a limited number of cafes is available as well. It is also convenient to get to a selection of clothing stores on foot.

Character

Midtown is fairly good for those who like quiet surroundings, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour - although there are still several noisier areas, especially near Highway 401. Parks aren't well-distributed, making them very difficult to reach. Still, there are a few green spaces nearby for residents to visit.

Housing

Around half of homes in Midtown were constructed in the 1980s, while most of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1960s. Single detached homes and townhouses are the predominant housing type in this area. Around 90% of the dwellings in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners while the remainder are rented. This part of the town also has quite a good variety of housing size options - this area is notable for those looking for three bedroom homes.
