Transportation

This neighbourhood presents house buyers with the choice between different methods of transportation. The public transit network in this neighbourhood is accessible. For example, homeowners benefit from Don Mills Station - Subway Platform on the Sheppard Line. The neighbourhood is served by about 10 bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most properties. Travelling on foot is also quite feasible for house buyers in Don Valley Village; running daily errands is convenient. Despite the fact that a few enjoyable pockets for bicycling can be found, Don Valley Village is not particularly appropriate for cycling as the bicycling infrastructure is sometimes poor, and there are a good number of hills.

Don Valley Village experienced its largest construction boom in the 1960s and 1970s, so most of the available housing stock is from this time period. Large apartment buildings are the predominant housing type, representing around 60% of dwellings in this area, while the rest are mainly single detached homes and townhouses. The split between homeowners and renters is about even. This area also has a good variety of housing sizes - it is quite easy to find properties ranging from lofts to four or more bedrooms.
