The best way to move around in Derry Green Business Park is usually driving. Most homes for sale are a rather short drive from the closest highway, such as Highway 401, and parking is easy. In contrast, the public transit system in this area is not very practical. Thankfully, residents have access to a few bus lines, and the closest bus stop is typically just around the corner. Derry Green Business Park is not especially appropriate for bicycling as this area has a sometimes poor cycling infrastructure. Thankfully, the terrain is reasonably flat, and a few bicycling-friendly sectors exist. Many of the houses for sale in this neighbourhood are located in areas that are also not very conducive to walking as few day-to-day errands can be run without the use of a car.

Some, but not all, property owners in Derry Green Business Park will live within walking distance of the closest grocery store. Residents of this part of Milton benefit from a few restaurants as well. With regards to education, parents and their children will value the proximity to daycares and primary schools, which are within walking distance from the majority of properties for sale in this part of the town. In contrast, Derry Green Business Park does not contain any high schools.

Derry Green Business Park offers a reasonably good selection of green spaces to enjoy. Although the neighbourhood does not contain any public green spaces, parks are very well-distributed in nearby neighbourhoods, which results in them being easy to reach from numerous locations in the neighbourhood. Lastly, since there are very few pedestrians, this part of Milton is relatively serene.

The predominant housing types in Derry Green Business Park are single detached homes and townhouses. About one third of properties in this neighbourhood were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while most of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 2000s.
