The neighbourhood of Centre Island is part of the city of Toronto, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Toronto Area metropolitan area.

Transportation

The preferred method to navigate Centre Island is very often driving. It is very easy to park. However, the public transit service in Centre Island is not very frequent. Nonetheless, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most houses. Centre Island will appeal to active home buyers because it is very suitable for cycling. More specifically, there are few slopes to confront bike riders. However, Centre Island is not very well-suited for those who travel by foot as common amenities such as liquor stores or laundromats can be a very long walk away.

Services

It is a reasonably short walk to get to daycares from anywhere in Centre Island. In contrast, this part of the city does not have any primary schools or high schools. Concerning eating, house buyers in this part of Toronto almost always have to turn to a vehicle to do groceries. A limited variety of restaurants can be found in Centre Island as well.

Character

Centre Island offers a slower-paced atmosphere and will appeal to home buyers who enjoy spending time outdoors. Greenery is especially prominent in this part of the city; it is very easy to get to public green spaces in the neighbourhood since there are approximately 10 of them close by for residents to discover. In addition, residents will find that numerous streets have wonderful tree coverage. This part of Toronto is reasonably quiet overall, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue - however noise can be bothersome near the airport (YTZ).

Housing

The large proportion of single detached homes in the housing stock of Centre Island is an important part of its character. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of three bedroom and two bedroom homes. Around 85% of the dwellings in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and 15% are rented. This area experienced its main building boom pre-1960, so most of the available properties are from this era.
