Situated in the Greater Thunder Bay metropolitan area, Gemstone is a neighbourhood within Thunder Bay, Ontario.

Transportation

The preferred way to get around in Gemstone is usually driving. Nearby highways are easy to reach from any location in Gemstone, and it is very easy to find a parking spot. However, the public transit network in this part of Thunder Bay is rather poor. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines passing through the neighbourhood, and bus stops are usually nearby. Cycling is sometimes challenging in Gemstone because the bicycling network is not very comprehensive, and the terrain is not very flat. Many of the homes for sale in this area are located in places that are also not very conducive to walking as very few common errands can be run without the use of a vehicle.

Services

Primary schools and daycares are convenient to walk to from anywhere in this area. However, there are no high schools in Gemstone.
