County Park

Located in the Greater Thunder Bay metropolitan area, County Park is a neighbourhood within Thunder Bay, Ontario.

Transportation

Driving is usually the best mode of transportation in County Park. It is very convenient to find a parking spot, and most properties for sale are a reasonably short drive from the closest highway. On the other hand, this part of the city is not very transit friendly. Thankfully, there are a few bus lines crossing the neighbourhood, and most houses are very close to a bus stop. The bicycle is a good mode of transportation in this neighbourhood. A majority of the homes for sale in this part of the city are located in places that are not very convenient for those who prefer to travel as pedestrians since running daily errands is impractical without a vehicle.

Services

Accessing the nearest grocery store without a vehicle is feasible for some, but not all, property owners in County Park. A small number of restaurants and coffee shops are available as well. As far as education is concerned, primary schools and daycares are convenient to access without the use of a vehicle from any location in this neighbourhood. In contrast, County Park does not have any high schools.

Character

County Park is a very good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a slower-paced environment. County Park is very quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour.

Housing

County Park experienced its largest building boom between 1960 and 1980, so most of the available properties are from this time period. Single detached homes are the most common housing type, representing around 40% of dwellings in this part of Thunder Bay, and the remaining dwellings are mainly small apartment buildings and townhouses. The split between homeowners and renters is about even. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes.
