Val Therese

Val Therese is a community within Greater Sudbury, Ontario, which is located in the Greater Sudbury metropolitan area.

Transportation

Cars are a very good transportation option in Val Therese. Parking is generally easy. In contrast, travelling by transit can be difficult in Val Therese as a result of the low service level. Nonetheless, there are a few bus lines passing through the community, and it is very easy to get to a nearby bus stop from most residences. Walking is not very practical for property owners in Val Therese as running daily errands is impractical without a car. This community is also not particularly amenable to cycling because the cycling infrastructure is rather limited. Nevertheless, the area is reasonably flat.

Services

In all but a very small number of cases, a car is required to buy groceries. There are a few choices for those who care about nearby restaurants. In terms of education, families will value the proximity to daycares and primary schools, which are within walking distance from most houses for sale in Val Therese. On the other hand, this part of the city does not have any high schools.

Character

Val Therese is a very good community to buy a home in for those who prefer a slower-paced atmosphere. Green spaces are easy to get to since there are a few of them nearby for residents to discover. This community is also very good for those who prefer quiet areas, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic.

Housing

Single detached homes and townhouses are the main housing type in Val Therese. About one third of properties in this area were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while most of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This area offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Roughly 90% of the population of this community own their home and the remainder are renters.
