Brooklin is an extremely convenient part of Whitby for driving. It is easy to find a place to park, and the majority of real estate listings are a rather short car ride from the closest highway. In contrast, residents using public transit may have limited choices in this area due to the low service level. Nevertheless, property owners have access to a few bus lines, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most houses. It is difficult to travel by bike in Brooklin because the cycling network is not very comprehensive, and there are a fair number of elevation changes to challenge cyclists. Brooklin is also not very well-suited for pedestrians because meeting daily needs is occasionally difficult without a vehicle.

Residents are served by around 30 restaurants and cafes as well. Concerning education, it is a very short distance to reach daycares and primary schools from anywhere in Brooklin. On the other hand, high schools are not particularly abundant and thus may require a rather long stroll to get to. Parents have the choice between public and private primary schools.
