Old Victoria

Situated within the Greater London metropolitan area, Old Victoria is a neighbourhood within London, Ontario.

Transportation

Old Victoria is especially car friendly. It is especially convenient to find a parking spot, and nearby highways, such as Highway 401, are quite easy to reach from anywhere in this part of London. On the other hand, public transit riders may find very limited choices in Old Victoria due to the low service level. Nonetheless, property owners are served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are usually a short walk away. Travelling on foot is not very practical for home buyers in this area since almost no daily errands can be run without needing to use a car. Bicycling is also occasionally challenging in Old Victoria as the cycling network is not very well-developed, and the terrain is not especially flat.

Services

House buyers in this part of the city almost always have to use a vehicle to access the closest supermarket. As far as education is concerned, there are no high schools and no primary schools in Old Victoria. Moreover, there are only a very small number of daycares and thus they can be a very long walk away.

Character

The character of Old Victoria is exemplified by its slower-paced atmosphere. This part of the city is quiet overall, as the streets tend to be reasonably peaceful - however some areas can be quite loud, especially closer to Highway 401. Lastly, access to parks is easy in the neighbourhood and there are a few of them nearby for residents to explore.

Housing

Nearly 95% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and renters make up the remainder. In this part of the city, the overwhelming majority of dwellings are single detached homes. Most of the housing growth in this neighbourhood has occurred following the year 2000. This neighbourhood offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes.
