Highbury

Situated within the Greater London metropolitan area, Highbury is a neighbourhood within London, Ontario.

Transportation

The favoured transportation option in this neighbourhood is usually a car. Most houses for sale are a very short drive from the nearest highway, such as Highway 401, and coming across a place to park is quite easy. In contrast, the public transit service in this area is not very frequent. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is served by a few bus lines, and the closest bus stop is usually close by. Although cycling is more practical in some areas than others, and the topography is reasonably flat, the bicycle is a rather poor method of transportation in Highbury as there are very few bike lanes. It is also inconvenient for pedestrians to get around in Highbury because very few daily errands can be run without needing to use a vehicle.

Services

This area does not contain any high schools or primary schools. Furthermore, daycares are not abundant and therefore tend to require a very long walk to get to. In terms of food, property owners in Highbury almost always have to use a car to purchase groceries. A small number of restaurants and cafes can be found.

Character

Highbury offers a great variety of green spaces to enjoy. There are a few parks close by for residents to unwind in, making them very easy to get to from most locations in Highbury. Finally, this part of the city is a wonderful area for those who don't mind some noise, as during busy hours, traffic can occasionally be bothersome.

Housing

The substantial proportion of single detached homes in the housing stock of Highbury is an important part of its character. The buildings in this part of the city are very new, because about half of its buildings were built after the year 2000, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1990s. This area is particularly good for those looking for three bedroom homes. Nearly 90% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home whereas renters make up the remainder.
