Scenic Woods is a neighbourhood within Hamilton, Ontario, which is located in the Greater Hamilton metropolitan area.

Transportation

Driving is very often the best approach to navigate Scenic Woods. Many real estate listings are a very short drive from the closest highway, such as Highway 403, and coming across a place to park is quite easy. However, Scenic Woods is not very transit friendly. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is served by a few bus lines, and most homes are very close to a bus stop. This part of the city is not very suitable for walking because running common errands is occasionally challenging. It is also challenging to travel by bike in this neighbourhood because there are few bike lanes, and there is a considerable amount of slopes. Thankfully, riding a bike is more practical in certain areas than others.

Services

It is a reasonably short walk to access daycares and high schools from anywhere in this part of the city. However, this neighbourhood does not contain any primary schools. With respect to food, in all but a very small number of cases, a vehicle is needed to purchase groceries. Nevertheless, getting to the closest pharmacy and consequently some basic food items is typically easy. A small selection of coffee shops can be found as well.

Character

There are a lot of green spaces to enjoy in Scenic Woods. There are a few parks nearby for residents to check out and they are very well-spread out, which makes them easy to reach. Finally, due to the presence of very few people out and about on the streets, this area is relatively calm.

In Scenic Woods, around 90% of dwellings are single detached homes, while the remainder are mainly duplexes. About 70% of the properties in this neighbourhood were built between 1980 and 1990, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s.
