Transportation

Travelling by car is very easy in this neighbourhood. Nearby highways, such as Highway 403, are especially easy to access from any home in this part of the city, and it is very convenient to come across a place to park. In contrast, Duff's Corner is not very transit friendly. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines crossing the neighbourhood, and bus stops are not very far away from most properties. Walking is not especially feasible for house buyers in this neighbourhood as few common errands can be run without the use of a car. Moving around by bicycle is also sometimes challenging in this part of the city as riding is rendered arduous by the often sloping topography, and the bicycling infrastructure is rather limited. Thankfully, a few bike-friendly areas can be found.

Services

Primary schools are easy to reach on foot from most homes for sale in Duff's Corner. However, this part of the city does not have any high schools. In terms of eating, a portion of house buyers in Duff's Corner may have the option to do groceries on foot, while others will have to rely on a vehicle. A small variety of restaurants and coffee shops is available as well.

Character

Duff's Corner is a fairly good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a calm ambience. This part of Hamilton is reasonably good for those who like a quiet atmosphere, as the streets are generally reasonably tranquil - however noise can be problematic closer to Highway 403. Lastly, although Duff's Corner does not contain any green spaces, parks are well-distributed in nearby neighbourhoods, making them easy to reach from many locations within this neighbourhood.

Housing

Roughly 90% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and renters make up the remainder. The predominance of single detached homes in the housing stock of this area is an important part of its character. Roughly 40% of properties in this neighbourhood were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 2000s. This neighbourhood offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
