Desjardin's

Part of the Greater Hamilton metropolitan area, Desjardin's is a neighbourhood within Hamilton, Ontario.

Transportation

Cars are an excellent transportation option in this neighbourhood. Accessing a place to park is easy, and most properties for sale are a short drive from the closest highway. On the other hand, public transit riders may find very limited choices in Desjardin's due to the service's low frequency. It is very inconvenient for pedestrians to get around in Desjardin's as very few daily errands can be run without the use of a vehicle. Desjardin's is also not particularly appropriate for bicycling because the terrain is not very flat, and the cycling network is not very extensive.

Services

This area does not contain any high schools or primary schools. In addition, families may consider it very difficult to reach daycares on foot. In terms of eating, in all but a very small number of cases, a car is required to purchase groceries.

Character

Desjardin's is quiet, as the streets are generally quite peaceful. Public green spaces aren't well-situated, which makes it occasionally difficult to reach them. Still, residents will be able to access parks in nearby neighbourhoods.

Housing

Single detached homes are the predominant housing type, representing almost all dwellings in Desjardin's, and the remaining houses are mainly duplexes. This part of Hamilton offers mainly three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes. About 85% of the properties in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and the rest are rented. Most housing in this area was built before the 1960s, during its largest building boom.
