Crerar

The neighbourhood of Crerar can be found in the city of Hamilton, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Hamilton metropolitan area.

Transportation

Active property owners will welcome the walk-friendly character of Crerar; many common errands can be run without needing to resort to a vehicle. Although biking is more practical in certain pockets than others, and there are a limited number of hills, Crerar is not particularly conducive to bicycling since this neighbourhood is home to a fairly poor bicycling infrastructure. Driving is a very good medium of transportation in Crerar. It is easy to park, and most houses for sale are a very short car ride from the nearest highway, such as Lincoln M Alexander Parkway. On the other hand, the public transit system in Crerar is not especially practical. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines crossing the neighbourhood, and bus stops are not very far-removed from most homes.

Services

It is a reasonably short walk to access schools and daycares from any location in Crerar. When it comes to eating, reaching the nearest grocery store on foot is possible for some, but not all, property owners in Crerar. There are also a limited number of opportunities for those who value restaurants in close proximity.

Character

People who prefer a slower-paced ambience will enjoy Crerar. There are a few public green spaces nearby for residents to discover and they are especially well-located, which makes it easy to reach them. The noise levels in this neighbourhood are also low, as the streets tend to be reasonably peaceful - although that is not the case around Lincoln M Alexander Parkway.

Housing

In Crerar, about half of buildings are single detached homes, and the rest are mainly large apartment buildings and small apartment buildings. Roughly 45% of properties in this neighbourhood were built after the year 2000, while many of the remaining buildings were built in the 1980s and the 1990s. This part of Hamilton offers mainly two bedroom and three bedroom homes. About three quarters of the population of this neighbourhood own their home while the remainder are renters.
