The neighbourhood of 4100 is part of the city of Hamilton, Ontario, which is located in the Greater Hamilton metropolitan area.

Transportation

Moving around by car is very convenient in this neighbourhood. Parking is quite easy. In contrast, residents using public transit may have very limited choices in 4100 as a result of the service's low frequency. Nonetheless, there are a few bus lines. The bicycle is a rather poor mode of transportation in this neighbourhood as there are very few bike lanes, and the terrain is not particularly flat. 4100 is also not very conducive to walking since many daily needs are very challenging to carry out without having to resort to a vehicle.

Services

There are only a few primary schools in this neighbourhood and accordingly they can be a long walk away. Likewise, 4100 does not have any high schools. Furthermore, daycares are not abundant and thus tend to require a very long walk to get to. As far as eating is concerned, property owners in 4100 almost always have to turn to a car to access the nearest supermarket.

Character

4100 is reasonably good for those who like a quiet atmosphere, as the streets are usually quite calm - however noise can be an issue closer to the airport (YHM). Getting to parks from the majority of locations within the neighbourhood, such as Turner Park and Hannon South Open Space, is rather challenging since they are sparse. Still, there are over 100 public green spaces close by for residents to check out.

Housing

The homes in this part of the city are very modern, because around one third of its buildings were built following the year 2000, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1960s. Single detached homes and townhouses are the main housing type in this neighbourhood. Nearly 95% of the dwellings in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners while the rest are rented. This part of the city is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes.
