Stevensville

Situated within the St. Catharines - Niagara metropolitan area, Stevensville is a neighbourhood within Fort Erie, Ontario.

Transportation

Stevensville is an extraordinarily good part of Fort Erie for travelling by car. Nearby highways, such as Queen Elizabeth Way, are reasonably easy to access from anywhere in this neighbourhood, and it is very convenient to access a parking spot. In contrast, residents using public transit may experience very limited options in this part of Fort Erie as a result of the service's low frequency. Travelling on foot is not very practical for residents in this part of the town because almost no daily needs can be met by walking. Although it is a flat ride to most locations, the bicycle is a rather poor method of transportation in Stevensville because the cycling network is not very comprehensive.

Services

In all cases, a vehicle is required to buy groceries. When it comes to education, families may find it very difficult for their schoolchildren to reach high schools and primary schools as pedestrians. Additionally, daycares are not abundant and thus tend to require a very long walk to get to. Parents have the choice between public and private elementary schools.

Character

Stevensville is reasonably good for those who need quiet surroundings, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue - although there are still several noisier areas, especially closer to Queen Elizabeth Way or one of the railway lines. Parks aren't well-distributed, making them very hard to reach.

Housing

In Stevensville, almost all buildings are single detached homes, and the rest are mainly townhouses. Roughly 30% of properties in this area were constructed pre-1960, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s. This neighbourhood offers mainly two bedroom and three bedroom homes. Nearly 90% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and the rest are rented.
