The bike is a fairly good method of transportation in Alton since the cycling infrastructure is reasonably well-developed. Many of the houses for sale in this neighbourhood are located in areas that are also reasonably suitable for people who like to get around by foot, although common amenities such as banks or liquor stores can be an occasionally long distance away. Alton is car friendly. It is convenient to park, and the majority of houses for sale are a reasonably short drive from the closest highway, such as Highway 407. Green spaces are very well-situated and there are a few of them nearby for residents to check out, resulting in them being easy to access from most locations in the neighbourhood. This part of Burlington is also great for those who need a quiet atmosphere, as the streets are usually very tranquil - although there are still several noisier areas, especially around the railway line or Highway 407.

Housing

Alton experienced its most significant construction boom after the year 2000, so most of the available properties are from this time period. In this part of the city, roughly 60% of buildings are single detached homes, whereas the remainder are mainly townhouses. About 85% of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and the remainder are rented. This area is primarily composed of three bedroom and four or more bedroom homes.
