Grand Woodlands

The neighbourhood of Grand Woodlands is part of the city of Brantford, Ontario, which is situated in the Greater Brantford metropolitan area.

Transportation

A majority of the houses for sale in this area are located in places that are fairly well-suited for people who like to get around as pedestrians; many daily needs can be carried out without a car. In contrast, this area is not particularly bike-friendly as the bicycling infrastructure is not very comprehensive, and there are a good number of hills. This area is very car friendly. Many houses for sale are a rather short drive from the nearest highway, such as Highway 403, and accessing a place to park is quite easy.

Services

It is a short stroll to get to primary schools as well as high schools from any location in Grand Woodlands. Families are served by public and private elementary schools. In contrast, families may find it very difficult to get to daycares without a vehicle. With respect to food, a supermarket is usually reachable within a rather short trip from most homes for sale in Grand Woodlands. There are also a limited number of options for those who value close by restaurants and cafes.

Character

Grand Woodlands offers a broad selection of green spaces to enjoy, as well as some areas with a vibrant atmosphere. Parks are especially well-situated and there are a few of them close by for residents to explore, making them easy to access from most locations within this part of Brantford. This area remains relatively quiet, since there are few pedestrians; however noise levels are higher closer to Highway 403.

Housing

Single detached homes are the predominant housing type, representing the majority of dwellings in Grand Woodlands, and the remainder are mainly large apartment buildings. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes. Around 70% of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and 30% are renters. This part of the city experienced its biggest construction boom in the 1960s and 1970s, so most of the available housing is from this time period.
