The neighbourhood of Shaugnessy is part of the municipality of Halifax, Nova Scotia, which is located in the Greater Halifax metropolitan area.

Transportation

Shaugnessy is an extraordinarily convenient part of Halifax for moving around by car. It is very convenient to park, and it is a rather short car ride to the closest highway from any home in this neighbourhood. In contrast, the public transit service in this area is not very frequent. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is connected by a few bus lines, and the closest bus stop is typically very close by. Shaugnessy is not especially cycling-friendly as there are a fair number of hills, and the bicycling infrastructure is rather limited. This neighbourhood is also not very conducive to people who like to get around on foot since most daily needs are impractical to carry out without a vehicle.

Services

Families will find that wherever their home is situated in Shaugnessy, daycares are nearby. On the other hand, Shaugnessy does not have any primary schools or high schools. With regards to food, it is rarely practical for house buyers in this neighbourhood to do their grocery shopping by foot.
