The neighbourhood of Portland Estates is part of the municipality of Halifax, Nova Scotia, which is situated in the Greater Halifax metropolitan area.

Transportation

Driving is a great means of transportation in this area. It is very convenient to come across a parking spot, and it is a reasonably short car ride to the closest highway from anywhere in Portland Estates. In contrast, the public transit system in this area is not very practical. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is served by a few bus lines, and it is especially convenient to get to a nearby bus stop from most homes. Portland Estates is not very conducive to those who travel by foot as running common errands is at times challenging.

Services

It is a reasonably short walk to access daycares and primary schools from anywhere in this part of the municipality. On the other hand, this neighbourhood does not have any high schools. In terms of food, buying one's groceries often demands the use of a car in Portland Estates. Nevertheless, getting to the nearest pharmacy and thus some staple foods is usually convenient. Residents of this part of Halifax are served by a few restaurants as well.
