Lake Charles

The neighbourhood of Lake Charles can be found in the municipality of Halifax, Nova Scotia, which is situated in the Greater Halifax metropolitan area.

Transportation

The preferred way to move around in this part of the municipality is usually a car. It is a short drive to the nearest highway from anywhere in Lake Charles, and parking is easy. On the other hand, this neighbourhood is not very transit friendly. Nonetheless, house owners have access to a few bus lines, and it is especially convenient to find a nearby bus stop from most residences. It is very challenging for pedestrians to navigate Lake Charles as running daily errands is very inconvenient without a vehicle. Despite the fact that people often choose to move around by bicycle, bicycling is also at times difficult in Lake Charles as there are few bike lanes, and riding is made strenuous by the typically hilly area.

Services

There are no high schools and no primary schools in this part of Halifax. Additionally, parents may find it very hard for their children to reach daycares by foot. With regards to eating, in all but a very small number of cases, a vehicle is required to shop for groceries.
