Kearney Lake is a neighbourhood in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

This neighbourhood is very car friendly. It is a very short car ride to the nearest highway from anywhere in Kearney Lake, and it is very convenient to find a parking spot. However, residents using public transit may experience few choices in this area as a result of the infrequent service. Thankfully, the neighbourhood is served by a few bus lines, and most properties are very close to a bus stop. This area is not particularly bicycling-friendly because the cycling network is not very extensive, and cyclists encounter a significant amount of hills. Most houses for sale in this area are located in places that are also not especially well-suited for walking as few daily errands can be run on foot.

Services

In Kearney Lake, parents and their children will typically be able to get to secondary schools by walking. In contrast, Kearney Lake does not have any primary schools. With respect to food, getting to the closest grocery store on foot is possible for some, but not all, home buyers in this part of Halifax. Residents of Kearney Lake are served by a few restaurants as well.

Character

The character of Kearney Lake is exemplified by its slower-paced ambience. Access to public green spaces is easy from most locations in the neighbourhood since there are a few of them close by for residents to discover. Most housing in this neighbourhood was built after the year 2000, during its main construction boom. This area is primarily composed of three bedroom and two bedroom homes.
