Part of the Greater Halifax metropolitan area, Big Lake is a community within Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

Driving is a great transportation option in this community. It is very convenient to park. A majority of the houses for sale in this community are located in places that are not very well-suited for those who travel by foot as almost no daily needs can be carried out by walking.

Services

This area does not have any high schools or primary schools. As far as food is concerned, property owners in this part of the municipality almost always have to use a car to do their grocery shopping.

Character

Big Lake is excellent for those who need quiet surroundings, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour. Parks aren't well-situated, resulting in them being very difficult to access from numerous locations within this part of the municipality.

Housing

The predominant housing types in Big Lake are single detached homes and townhouses. Roughly 30% of properties in this community were constructed prior to the 1960s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1980s.
