Brentwood

Located within the Greater Truro metropolitan area, Brentwood is a neighbourhood in Colchester Subdivision C, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

This area is very car friendly. It is especially convenient to find a parking spot. This part of Colchester Subdivision C is not very amenable to biking since there are a good number of slopes, and the cycling infrastructure is not very well-developed. Many of the homes for sale in this area are located in places that are also not very suitable for those who travel by walking because most daily needs are very impractical to meet without a vehicle.

Services

This part of Colchester Subdivision C does not contain any high schools or primary schools. Furthermore, there are only a very small number of daycares and consequently they can be a very long distance away. As far as eating is concerned, property owners in this area almost always have to rely on a car to travel to the nearest supermarket.

Character

Brentwood is a fairly good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a relaxed environment. Most areas in Brentwood are quiet, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue - although that is not the case close to the railway line.

Housing

Homeowners occupy roughly 90% of the properties in Brentwood and 10% are rented. In this neighbourhood, the overwhelming majority of buildings are single detached homes, while the rest are mainly mobile homes. Around 30% of properties in this area were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while many of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This part of the subdivision of a county municipality is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes.
