Spry Harbour

Spry Harbour is a community in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

This community is an extremely good part of Halifax for moving around by car. Finding a parking spot is quite easy. This community is not very amenable to bicycling because the cycling network is not very well-developed, and cyclists are faced with quite a few elevation changes. Spry Harbour is also not very convenient for those who travel by foot because meeting day-to-day needs is almost impossible by walking.

Services

This community does not have any high schools or primary schools. As far as food is concerned, a vehicle is almost always needed in Spry Harbour to reach the nearest supermarket.

Character

Spry Harbour is reasonably quiet overall, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic. Parks aren't well-spread out, which results in them being occasionally hard to reach from the majority of locations within this part of Halifax. Still, there are a few public green spaces close by for residents to visit, such as Billy Bollong Memorial Park.

Housing

In Spry Harbour, the vast majority of dwellings are single detached homes, while small apartment buildings make up most of the remaining housing stock. This community offers mainly two bedroom and three bedroom homes. Around 90% of the dwellings in the community are occupied by homeowners while the rest are rented. Roughly 40% of homes in this part of the municipality were constructed pre-1960, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s.
