Situated within the Greater Halifax metropolitan area, Penhorn is a neighbourhood in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

The car is very often the preferred method to navigate this part of the municipality. Parking is easy, and many properties for sale are a short drive from the closest highway. On the other hand, the transit system in Penhorn is not very practical. Nevertheless, there are a few bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and it is very convenient to find a nearby bus stop from most houses. This part of Halifax is not especially suited for bicycling because the cycling network is not very extensive, and cyclists are faced with a significant amount of slopes. Traveling by walking is also not especially feasible for house buyers in Penhorn because most daily needs are sometimes difficult to carry out without a vehicle.

Services

Families will value that wherever their property is located in Penhorn, primary schools and daycares are close by. However, there are no high schools in Penhorn. The majority of the homes in this neighbourhood were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1980s.
