Otter Lake

Located within the Greater Halifax metropolitan area, Otter Lake is a community within Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

Cars are an excellent mode of transportation in this part of Halifax. Many properties for sale are a very short car ride from the closest highway, and it is very convenient to find a parking spot. Commuting by bicycle is challenging in this area because there are very few bike lanes, and there are a good number of elevation changes. Most homes for sale in this community are located in places that are also not very suitable for people who prefer to travel as pedestrians as running common errands is challenging without the need to get in a vehicle.

Services

There are no high schools and no primary schools in Otter Lake. Moreover, parents and their children may find it very difficult to access daycares as pedestrians. With respect to food, shopping for one's groceries usually demands the use of a car in Otter Lake.

There are a lot of green spaces to enjoy in Otter Lake. Parks, including Western Commons, are especially well-spread out and there are around 20 of them close by for residents to relax in, resulting in them being easy to get to from the majority of locations within this community.
