Moosehead

Moosehead is a community within Halifax, Nova Scotia, which is situated in the Greater Halifax metropolitan area.

Transportation

The car is usually the best approach to get around in Moosehead. Coming across a parking spot is generally easy. Moosehead is not very conducive to biking since the bicycling network is quite bad, and the terrain is not particularly flat. This community is also not very well-suited for people who travel as pedestrians because many daily needs are nearly impossible to meet without a vehicle.

Services

There are no high schools and no primary schools in Moosehead. In terms of food, it is very rarely possible for property owners in this part of the municipality to travel to the nearest supermarket without a vehicle.

Character

Moosehead is a fairly good community to buy a house in for those who prefer a slower-paced ambience. Moosehead is reasonably quiet, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour. Public green spaces aren't well-spread out, which results in them being rather challenging to reach from the majority of locations within this part of Halifax. Despite that, residents will be able to access parks in nearby communities.

Housing

Homeowners occupy about 85% of the properties in Moosehead and 15% are rented. The substantial percentage of single detached homes in the housing stock of this community is an important part of its character. About 40% of properties in this area were constructed prior to the 1960s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1980s. This community is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes.
