Lawrencetown

Lawrencetown is a community in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

Lawrencetown is an extremely good part of Halifax for travelling by car. It is very easy to access a parking spot. Lawrencetown is not very amenable to cycling because there are a fair number of elevation changes, and there are very few bike lanes. Travelling on foot is also not very feasible for property owners in this part of the municipality because carrying out daily needs is almost impossible.

Services

Parents and their children may consider it practically impossible to get to primary schools on foot. As far as eating is concerned, a car is almost always needed in this part of the municipality to access the closest grocery store. There are also a few options for those who care about restaurants within walking distance.

Character

Lawrencetown is very quiet overall, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour. It is rather difficult to access public green spaces from numerous locations within the community since they aren't well-spread out. Despite that, there are about 10 parks close by for residents to enjoy.

Housing

About 30% of properties in Lawrencetown were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while many of the remaining buildings were built in the 1980s and the 1990s. The predominant housing types in this community are single detached homes and townhouses. Nearly 95% of the properties in the community are occupied by homeowners whereas the remainder are rented.
