Part of the Greater Halifax metropolitan area, Hatchet Lake is a community within Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

Driving is a great means of transportation in this community. It is especially convenient to find a place to park. This area is not very well-suited for people who like to travel by foot as most day-to-day needs are very difficult to carry out without a vehicle. The bike is a sometimes poor method of transportation in this part of Halifax because the topography is not especially flat, and this community is home to quite bad bicycling infrastructure.

Services

In all but a very small number of cases, a vehicle is needed in Hatchet Lake to access the nearest supermarket. Nonetheless, it is generally a rather short walk to the nearest pharmacy, which can provide some basic food items. A small variety of restaurants is available in this part of Halifax as well.
