Goffs

The community of Goffs is part of the municipality of Halifax, Nova Scotia, which is situated in the Greater Halifax metropolitan area.

Transportation

Goffs is very car friendly. Most real estate listings are a very short car ride from the closest highway, and coming across a parking spot is easy. However, the transit infrastructure in this area is quite poor. Nonetheless, the community is linked by a few bus lines, and it is convenient to get to a nearby bus stop from most homes. It is very inconvenient for people travelling on foot to navigate this part of the municipality because running common errands is practically impossible without a car. Moving around by bicycle is also very difficult in Goffs as the cycling infrastructure is not very extensive, and the topography is not particularly flat.

Services

There are no high schools and no primary schools in this community. With regards to food, property owners in this part of the municipality almost always have to use a vehicle to reach the closest grocery store.

Character

Goffs is a community to buy a house in for those who prefer a chill ambience. Goffs is a wonderful area for those who don't mind a bit of noise, since traffic can occasionally be loud during rush hour. Public green spaces aren't well-spread out, making it very difficult to access them.

Housing

The housing stock of Goffs is composed primarily of single detached homes and townhouses. Roughly one third of properties in this part of the municipality were built following the year 2000, while the majority of the remaining buildings were constructed in the 1960s and the 1980s. This community offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy roughly 95% of the units in Goffs and the remainder are rented.
