The neighbourhood of Glen Moir can be found in the municipality of Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

Cars are an excellent transportation option in this part of the municipality. Many properties for sale are a short car ride from the nearest highway, and coming across a parking spot is quite easy. On the other hand, the public transit system in this part of the municipality is not very practical. Nevertheless, the neighbourhood is linked by a few bus lines, and most houses are very close to a bus stop. It is sometimes difficult to commute by bicycle in this area as there are quite a few slopes, and the cycling network is rather poor. This part of the municipality is also not especially well-suited for walking because carrying out daily needs is sometimes challenging.

Services

It is very easy to get to the nearest supermarket on foot in this part of the municipality. Furthermore, a cafe is on average a reasonably short stroll away, and a limited variety of restaurants is available in Glen Moir as well. Regarding education, parents and their kids will welcome that wherever their house is located in this neighbourhood, daycares and primary schools are nearby. However, there are no high schools in Glen Moir.

Character

Glen Moir is a great neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a calm ambience. This part of Halifax is wonderful for those who enjoy quiet areas, as the streets tend to be very tranquil. Lastly, there are a few parks nearby for residents to relax in and they are especially well-spread out, resulting in them being easy to reach from most locations within the neighbourhood.

Housing

In Glen Moir, many buildings are single detached homes, but small apartment buildings are also present in the housing stock. Roughly one third of properties in this neighbourhood were constructed between 1960 and 1980, while many of the remaining buildings were built in the 1980s and the 1990s. This part of Halifax offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. About two thirds of the population of this neighbourhood own their home whereas the remainder are renters.
