Beaver Harbour

Located within the Greater Halifax metropolitan area, Beaver Harbour is a community within Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

Beaver Harbour is an extraordinarily good part of Halifax for driving. It is very convenient to park. This area is not very suited for bicycling because the cycling network is quite bad, and the topography is not especially flat. This part of Halifax is also not very suitable for people who like to get around on foot since almost no daily needs can be carried out without a vehicle.

Services

Beaver Harbour does not contain any high schools or primary schools. As far as food is concerned, in all but a very small number of cases, a car is required to buy groceries.

Character

Beaver Harbour offers a calm environment. Beaver Harbour is good for those who enjoy a quiet atmosphere, as noise from streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue. Parks aren't well-situated, making it very hard to access them.

Housing

The substantial proportion of single detached homes in the housing stock of Beaver Harbour is an important part of its character. This community offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Nearly 95% of the units in the community are occupied by homeowners and the remainder are rented. Around one third of properties in this area were constructed between 1960 and 1980, while most of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s.
