Bayside

Bayside is a community in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

Bayside is an extremely good part of Halifax for moving around by car. It is very easy to park. It is difficult to get around by bicycle in Bayside as there are very few bike lanes, and there are a good number of slopes. Most homes for sale in this part of the municipality are located in places that are also not very conducive to those who travel by foot as almost no daily errands can be run without the use of a vehicle.

Services

There are no high schools and no primary schools in this community. With respect to food, a vehicle is almost always needed in Bayside to access the nearest grocery store.

Character

Most areas in Bayside are very quiet, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic. Green spaces aren't well-situated, resulting in them being rather challenging to get to from many locations in the community. Despite that, there are a few parks nearby for residents to check out.

Housing

The substantial proportion of single detached homes in the housing stock of Bayside is an important part of its character. About 30% of properties in this part of the municipality were constructed pre-1960, while many of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1980s. This part of Halifax offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy nearly 95% of the properties in the community and renters occupy the remainder.
