The neighbourhood of Africville is part of the municipality of Halifax, Nova Scotia, which is located in the Greater Halifax metropolitan area.

Transportation

Africville is especially car friendly. It is a reasonably short drive to the closest highway from any home in this neighbourhood, and it is very easy to come across a place to park. On the other hand, this part of Halifax is not very transit friendly. Nevertheless, homeowners benefit from a few bus lines, and most houses are very close to a bus stop. Walking is not very popular in Africville, although many daily needs can be carried out without a car. On the other hand, bicycling is easy in Africville.

Services

Doing one's groceries generally demands the use of a car in this neighbourhood. On the other hand, a coffee shop is often just around the corner. As far as education is concerned, schools and daycares are easy to get to as a pedestrian from anywhere in Africville.

Character

The character of Africville is exemplified by its relaxed environment. There are a few parks nearby for residents to unwind in and they are especially well-situated, which makes it easy to access them. This part of the municipality is quiet overall, as the streets are generally calm.
