The community of River Ryan is part of the municipality of Cape Breton Municipality, Nova Scotia, which is situated in the Cape Breton metropolitan area.

Transportation

River Ryan is especially car friendly. Finding a parking spot is quite easy. Many of the homes for sale in this part of the municipality are located in places that are not very suitable for walking because very few common errands can be run on foot. It is also very difficult to get around by bicycle in River Ryan as the terrain is not very flat, and the cycling infrastructure is quite poor.
