Catalone

Catalone is a community within Cape Breton Municipality, Nova Scotia, which is situated in the Cape Breton metropolitan area.

Transportation

Driving is a great transportation option in this community. Finding a parking spot is generally easy. Getting around by walking is not very practical for house buyers in Catalone as almost no common errands can be run without a car. Catalone is also not very bicycling-friendly since the cycling network is not very comprehensive, and there are a good number of elevation changes for cyclists to brave.

Services

There are no high schools and no primary schools in this area. When it comes to food, in all but a very small number of cases, a vehicle is needed to buy groceries.

Character

Catalone offers a relaxed atmosphere and will appeal to home buyers who enjoy spending time outdoors. This area is reasonably quiet, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue. Lastly, although the community is not home to any parks, green spaces are very well-situated in nearby communities, which results in them being very easy to access from most locations in Catalone.

Housing

The substantial proportion of single detached homes in the housing stock of Catalone is an important part of its character. Roughly 45% of properties in this area were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while most of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This community is primarily composed of two bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy nearly 90% of the properties in Catalone whereas the remainder are rented.
