The community of Big Ridge can be found in the municipality of Cape Breton Municipality, Nova Scotia, which is situated in the Cape Breton metropolitan area.

Transportation

Driving is an excellent medium of transportation in Big Ridge. It is especially convenient to park. This part of Cape Breton Municipality is not very conducive to biking since there are a fair number of slopes, and the cycling infrastructure is not very well-developed. Walking is also not very convenient for home buyers in Big Ridge because almost no common errands can be run without the use of a vehicle.

Services

Big Ridge does not have any high schools or primary schools. Furthermore, it can be very hard to reach daycares without the use of a car. With respect to food, a vehicle is almost always needed in this community to access the nearest supermarket.

Character

Big Ridge is a very good community to buy a home in for those who prefer a slower-paced environment. This area is very quiet overall, as there isn't a lot of street noise or city clamour. Lastly, although Big Ridge is not home to any green spaces, parks are scarce in nearby communities, which makes them easy to access.
