Part of the Cape Breton metropolitan area, Little Lorraine is a community within Cape Breton Municipality, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

The preferred means of transportation in Little Lorraine is usually a car. It is especially convenient to park. This area is not very cycling-friendly because cyclists encounter a considerable amount of slopes, and the bicycling network is not very extensive. Little Lorraine is also not very conducive to pedestrians since carrying out day-to-day needs is practically impossible without a car.

Services

Little Lorraine does not contain any high schools or primary schools. With respect to food, home buyers in this area almost always have to use a car to buy groceries.

Character

Little Lorraine is an excellent community to buy a home in for those who prefer a calm ambience. The noise levels in this part of the municipality are very low, as the streets are especially peaceful. Finally, although Little Lorraine does not contain any parks, public green spaces are well-spread out in nearby communities, making it very easy to reach them from the majority of locations in the community.

Housing

Single detached homes and row houses are the predominant housing type in Little Lorraine. Roughly one third of properties in this community were built in the 1960s and 1970s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This part of the municipality offers mainly two bedroom and three bedroom homes. Homeowners occupy roughly 95% of the dwellings in the community whereas the rest are rented.
