Grand Narrows

Grand Narrows is a community within Cape Breton Municipality, Nova Scotia, which is situated in the Cape Breton metropolitan area.

Transportation

This area is very car friendly. It is very easy to park. Moving around by bicycle is very hard in Grand Narrows because the cycling infrastructure is not very comprehensive, and there are quite a few hills. A majority of the homes for sale in this part of the municipality are located in areas that are also not very well-suited for walking as almost no daily errands can be run without the use of a car.

Services

Grand Narrows does not have any high schools or primary schools. In terms of eating, a vehicle is almost always required in this area to access the nearest supermarket.

Character

The character of Grand Narrows is exemplified by its slower-paced ambience. There are a few parks close by for residents to relax in and they are especially well-situated, which results in them being easy to get to from many locations within the community. This area is very quiet overall, as there are usually low levels of noise from traffic.

Housing

In Grand Narrows, almost all buildings are single detached homes, but mobile homes are also present in the housing stock. About one quarter of properties in this community were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, while the majority of the remaining buildings were built pre-1960 and in the 1980s. This community offers mainly four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Around 90% of the dwellings in the community are occupied by homeowners and 10% are occupied by renters.
