Beaver Cove

Part of the Cape Breton metropolitan area, Beaver Cove is a community within Cape Breton Municipality, Nova Scotia.

Transportation

Beaver Cove is very car friendly. It is especially convenient to find a parking spot. It is very impractical for pedestrians to get around in this community as meeting daily needs is almost impossible without a vehicle. The bicycle is a quite bad means of transportation in Beaver Cove as there are very few bike lanes, and riding is made strenuous by the often hilly terrain.

Services

There are no high schools and no primary schools in this part of the municipality. In terms of food, it is very rarely an option for property owners in Beaver Cove to travel to the closest supermarket without the need to get in a car.

Character

Beaver Cove is a very good community to buy a home in for those who prefer a slower-paced atmosphere. Green spaces are very easy to access, since there are a few of them close by for residents to explore and getting to a park is very easy from most houses. This area is also very quiet, as there tend to be low levels of noise from traffic.

Housing

Nearly 95% of the properties in the community are occupied by homeowners whereas renters occupy the remainder. The housing stock of this community is composed predominantly of single detached homes and townhouses. About one third of properties in this community were constructed pre-1960, while most of the remaining buildings were built in the 1960s and the 1980s. This part of Cape Breton Municipality is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes.
