Transportation

Cars are an excellent medium of transportation in this part of Winnipeg. It is very easy to find a place to park, and the street layout is conducive to driving. Parker is also quite transit friendly. For example, rapid transit stations, including Southbound Southwest Transitway at Beaumont Station and Northbound Southwest Transitway at Beaumont Station with access to the Blue |, are not very far away from the greater part of properties in the neighbourhood. The neighbourhood is served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are usually nearby. There are relatively few pedestrians out on the streets of Parker, despite the fact that most daily needs are convenient to carry out without the use of a car, and a good number of businesses of different types can be found as well.

A reasonable choice of clothing stores is also situated within a rather short walking distance.

Character

Parker offers a wide selection of green spaces to enjoy. Parks are especially well-spread out and there are a few of them nearby for residents to check out, making them easy to reach. Finally, as there are few people out and about on the streets, this neighbourhood is relatively quiet; however there can be more noise for those who are around the railway line.

Most of the houses available in the housing market in Parker were constructed in the 1960s and 1970s, when a majority of the housing growth happened. In this part of Winnipeg, many dwellings are small apartment buildings, and the remainder are mainly large apartment buildings and single detached homes.
