Situated within the Greater Winnipeg metropolitan area, Island Lakes is a neighbourhood in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Transportation

Cars are a great medium of transportation in this part of Winnipeg. It is a short car ride to the closest highway from any home in this area, and it is very easy to find a parking spot. However, the public transit system in Island Lakes is not very practical. Nevertheless, residents are served by a few bus lines, and bus stops are typically nearby. This part of Winnipeg is not very conducive to walking as very few common errands can be run on foot.

Services

Reaching the closest grocery store by walking is practical for some, but not all, home buyers in Island Lakes. There are also a few restaurants and coffee shops in this part of the city. Concerning education, it is a rather short walk to get to primary schools from most homes for sale in this neighbourhood. However, there are no high schools in Island Lakes.

Character

Island Lakes is a very good neighbourhood to buy a house in for those who prefer a relaxed environment. The noise levels in this area are very low, as the streets are usually very tranquil. Finally, there are about 10 green spaces nearby for residents to discover, such as Lindsey Wilson Park, and they are very well-situated, making it easy to reach them.
