Fairfield Park

Part of the Greater Winnipeg metropolitan area, Fairfield Park is a neighbourhood within Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Transportation

Fairfield Park is an extraordinarily convenient part of Winnipeg for moving around by car. Most properties for sale are a very short car ride from the closest highway, and it is convenient to access a parking spot. In contrast, the public transit system in this part of the city is somewhat poor. Thankfully, rapid transit stations, including Pembina / Bairdmore North, Pembina / Chancellor Matheson and Pembina / Fairfield, are not very far from the majority of homes in the neighbourhood. There are a few bus lines traversing the neighbourhood, and most residences are very close to a bus stop. This part of the city is reasonably appropriate for biking because it is an even ride to most destinations. Walking is not particularly practical for home buyers in Fairfield Park as running daily errands is sometimes challenging by walking.

Services

It is straightforward to reach the nearest grocery store on foot in this area. There are also a few options for those who value restaurants in close proximity. When it comes to education, it is a short walk to get to both primary and secondary schools from anywhere in this part of the city. On the other hand, daycares are not particularly abundant and accordingly not always within walking distance.

Character

Fairfield Park offers a slower-paced atmosphere and will appeal to home buyers who enjoy spending time outdoors. Most areas in this part of Winnipeg are very quiet, as there are generally low levels of noise from traffic. Lastly, there are a few public green spaces close by for residents to explore and they are especially well-spread out, making them easy to reach.

Housing

Around two thirds of the population of this neighbourhood own their home and renters make up the remainder. In this area, around 45% of buildings are single detached homes, but large apartment buildings and small apartment buildings are also present in the housing stock. This area experienced its main construction boom after the year 2000, so most of the available properties are from this era. This neighbourhood is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and two bedroom homes.
