Windsor Park

Part of the Greater Winnipeg metropolitan area, Windsor Park is a neighbourhood within Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Transportation

The car is very often the best method to navigate Windsor Park. It is a very short drive to the closest highway from any home in this area, and it is easy to find a place to park. However, getting around by transit can be difficult in this part of the city as a result of the service's low frequency. Nevertheless, residents have access to a few bus lines, and it is especially convenient to reach a nearby bus stop from most properties. This neighbourhood is not particularly suitable for walking because carrying out daily needs is sometimes difficult. However, moving around by bicycle is convenient in Windsor Park as the cycling infrastructure is reasonably well-developed, and there are a limited number of elevation changes for cyclists to brave.

Services

Some, but not all, property owners in Windsor Park will reside within walking distance of the nearest supermarket. There are also a few opportunities for those who value restaurants and cafes in close proximity. As far as education is concerned, it is a short walk to access schools and daycares from anywhere in Windsor Park.

Character

Windsor Park is a fairly good neighbourhood to buy a home in for those who prefer a calm environment. Green spaces are very easy to get to since there are approximately 20 of them nearby for residents to visit. This neighbourhood is quiet overall, as noise from the streets and other parts of the city is rarely an issue - although there are still several louder areas, especially near the railway line.

Housing

The substantial proportion of single detached homes in the housing stock of Windsor Park is an important part of its character. This part of the city is primarily composed of four or more bedroom and three bedroom homes. Roughly three quarters of the units in the neighbourhood are occupied by homeowners and renters occupy the remainder. Roughly half of properties in this part of Winnipeg were built between 1960 and 1980, while many of the remaining buildings were constructed pre-1960.
